Dr Elise Gane joined RECOVER in 2018 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow shortly after completing her PhD with The University of Queensland. She has clinical experience as a physiotherapist, treating acute medical/surgical inpatients and outpatients with musculoskeletal conditions in a tertiary public hospital. Elise’s PhD was in the area of musculoskeletal disability and recovery after surgery for head and neck cancer. She has a particular interest in recovery trajectories following injury, and in understanding how interventions might change an individual’s risk of having a poor outcome. Within RECOVER, Elise is conducting research to better understand the difficulties individuals face in returning to work with an injury sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
