Simone completed her BSc(Hons) majoring in psychology in 2018 at The University of Queensland. Her thesis investigated whether a single session of mindfulness meditation delivered via a mobile app reduced psychological stress in university students. Simone was successful in receiving a Winter Research Scholarship in the School of Psychology in 2018. Her project examined health promotion efforts by chronic pain organisations via Twitter on policy restrictions in access to codeine. She has also worked as a research assistant in the School of Psychology investigating integrated interventions for chronic pain. Simone has also volunteered for various public health organisations around the world. Simone joined the  Improving health outcomes after musculoskeletal injury team in June 2019. She will be working with Professor Michele Sterling and her team on exploring patient perspectives of receiving psychological treatments for chronic whiplash and post-traumatic stress disorder and conducting systematic reviews on innovative approaches to treating pain and injury.
