Topic Neurological factors underlying chronic pain after road traffic injury

Dr Nayomi Ranathunga is a medical doctor and a PhD candidate investigating neurological factors underlying chronic pain after road traffic injuries. She is working with advisors Prof Michele Sterling and Dr Scott Farrell. Nayomi has a medical degree (MBBS) and master’s degree (MPhil) from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. Prior to commencing her PhD at UQ, she was a Senior Lecturer in Physiology at Wayamba University and a medical officer in hospitals in Colombo. Dr Ranathunga’s previous research received Sri Lankan National Research Council Merit Awards, university research awards, and university grant funding.
