Health Hub Doctors - The University of Queensland Research Study

Neuropathic medication survey

What is the Neuropathic medication survey?

This study aims to investigate GPs' attitudes towards prescribing neuropathic medication as a treatment measure for acute whiplash and identify potential barriers and enablers to the prescription of this medication.

The survey will ask about your current treatment practices for acute whiplash, including any non-medication treatments you may prescribe and the medications you typically prescribe for this condition.

The data collected from this study will provide valuable insights into the prescribing practices of GPs in relation to neuropathic medication for acute whiplash. By understanding how GPs prescribe medication for this condition, we can identify potential barriers and enablers to the prescription of neuropathic medication and ultimately improve patient outcomes.

What is the aim of this study?

Study Aims:

  1. To find out how likely GPs are to prescribe neuropathic medication and in what situations.
  2. To estimate the proportion of GPs who would consider prescribing neuropathic pain medications for adult patients with acute whiplash injury.
