Description

The RECOVER Conference is an online event hosted by our RECOVER researchers alongside international and national keynote speakers; Professor Samuel McLean (University of North Carolina), Associate Professor Francesca Beaudoin (Brown University), and Professor Kim Bennell (University of Melbourne).

RECOVER researchers will conduct a series of presentations summarising their most recent research designed to demonstrate innovative interventions and technologies that health professionals might use to assist their clients in their rehabilitation and recovery following injury.

Keynote speakers

The conference features international keynote speakers and Emergency Physicians Professor Samuel McLean and Dr Francesca Beaudoin. Professor McLean will present results of the NIMH funded AURORA study, a large emergency department-based cohort using state-of-the-art self-report, neurocognitive, physiologic, digital phenotyping, psychophysical, neuroimaging, and genomic assessments.

Dr Beaudoin will discuss results of early intervention trials in the emergency department to prevent chronic pain and substance misuse.

Our national keynote speaker, Professor Kim Bennell, is a Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor and NHMRC investigator and will discuss the impact of Australia’s rapid transition to telehealth during the pandemic and implications for the future provision of rehabilitation care in Australia.
