Prue Butler graduated as a Physiotherapist in 2011. Since then she has worked across multiple clinical areas within the public hospital system in Western Australia and Queensland. Prue has a strong interest in pain science. Her clinical experience has led her to wonder how and why some people develop persistent and disabling pain after an injury.
Prue’s PhD is looking into the role that injury related beliefs and expectations play in recovery after traumatic orthopaedic injuries, specifically:
- Whether beliefs and expectations may play a causal role in the development of persistent pain-related disability after traumatic injuries and
- If they do, the mechanisms underlying the role they play
