Topic: Quantifying the public health burden of minor and moderate road traffic injury
Dr Shamini Kosgallana is a Dental Surgeon and commenced her PhD candidature at RECOVER Injury Research Centre in April 2024. Under the supervision of Professor Michele Sterling and Dr Nigel Armfield, Shamini’s research will focus on quantifying the public health burden of road traffic crashes.
Shamini graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Sciences from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, following which she worked for 15 years as a Dental Surgeon in Sri Lanka. Shamini also holds a Master of Science (Community Dentistry) and a Doctor of Medicine (Community Dentistry) (MD) from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Prior to commencing her PhD at UQ, she was a Visiting Academic at UQ’s School of Dentistry for two years.
